About
The 3RC geotechnical engineering team is principally focused on all geotechnical aspects of mining projects but has also undertaken considerable work in civil projects. We are the leaders in large open pit geotechnical designs.
Our geotechnical engineering capability includes both open pit, tailings, waste landforms and mine closure from the initial planning and investigation stages, through to design and project implementation. Our expertise extends across a wide range of commodities and their geotechnical environments, from coal through iron ore and base metals to precious metals.
The 3RC geotechnical team provides onsite, 2D and 3D design, audit and review, and risk analysis services for:
- civil projects
- open pits
- interpretation of monitoring
- waste landforms including tailings
- geotechnical aspects of rehabilitation, backfill and closure
We specialise in ongoing research into the application of unsaturated soil mechanics, anisotropic shear strength and deformation behaviour in all aspects of mining and civil geotechnical engineering.
Key Personnel
The senior project managers in the 3RC geotechnical division have in excess of 100 years’ combined experience of geotechnical engineering for both mining and civil projects and head a multi-disciplinary team specialising in rock mechanics solutions for the mining industry.
The integration of geotechnical engineers, mining engineers, geologists and technologies specialists enables 3RC to apply an efficient and tailored approach to each specific project.
